Mimbre Live on Hackney Live – February 13th, 6pm

Mimbre Live on Hackney Live – February 13th, 6pm

Hackney Live, a digital broadcast platform showcasing the best of Hackney’s creative talents (led by Hackney Council and supported by Arts Council England), is returning in February with a feast of acrobatics, dance and theatre – shaped and directed by audiences via social media. And Mimbre is part of it!

Are you interested in the research and development of a show? Have you always been wondering how a performance is created from scratch? Here’s your chance!

From February 10th Mimbre will spend a week with Hackney Live exploring and developing ideas for visuals, design and choreographies for our new production Time, which will serve as basis for the show’s overall development and artistic feel. But instead of doing all of this secretly behind closed doors (which is usually the case) we are going to open up the process to you so that you can follow the research and development of our new show and also be part of it, if you want!

Follow us on twitter (@Mimbre_Acrobats), instagram (Mimbreacrobats) and vine (Mimbre_Acrobats) and get RSS feeds from this blog for latest updates and join our new Time Facebook group to see the whole research and development process unfold!

We are also inviting our audiences to inspire us with their creative input, be it poems, thoughts, drawings, images or short videos about the notion of time – and the very best of it will influence the development of Time, which will tour nationally and internationally! For the week at Hackney Live we will also set a specific video challenge for submissions via vine, instagram and youtube (for more information on the call for submissions read our previous blog post).

On February 13th, 6-7pm, during an exclusive live-stream on Hackney Live we will demonstrate the choreographies and design ideas that we have created over the week alongside the audience content which has inspired them. Beside following the culmination of our first week of Time’s creation process there will also be an opportunity to send in questions as part of the stream, which will be answered live by our creative team. Beside following the live-stream online, you might be able to watch it live in the studio from where it is broadcasted (if your submission is among the best you’ll get an exclusive invitation!) or you can watch it at special screenings at the following youth hubs across Hackney: Hoxton Hall, Forest Road and Concorde.

Put February 13th in your calendars and don’t miss the exclusive opportunity to follow our rehearsal process over the coming week!
