28 Jul Watch this Space & Great British Carnival weekender!
We had a brilliant weekend at Mimbre. The whole company including our youth group headed down to St John’s Church on Saturday for a double bill performance of Watching the World Go By. The show takes our Bench production as a starting point and introduces our youth company’s take on street life! The kids made up their characters and respective choreographies, and joined Silvia and Rebecca in a massive dance off! On Sunday we headed to the Olympic Park for the Great British Carnival. The kids were given leopard print bleu catsuits and carte blanche to monkey around the park. They gathered such a following that they extended their initial piece to include a samba inspired dance and free-style acrobatics and dancing. They also made an energetic appearance on the Heart of Carnival dance stage for a dance performance. The weekend ended with everyone splashing in the park’s refreshing fountain (me included). It was a really nice way to finish off the summer term with our youth company! Many thanks to all of those who came to watch us, and all the parents for giving us a hand!
