01 Nov Join Mimbre’s Board
This position is from 2019 and now closed.
Mimbre would like to expand its Board and we’re looking for new Trustees from all walks of life who would like to join us. With Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation funding confirmed up until 2022, a tour of outdoor acrobatic show Lifted and a new indoor production When Words Are Not Enough (working title) both planned for 2020, and a thriving youth programme, now is a great time to join this female-led acrobatic theatre company. We’re particularly interested in new Trustees with experience in circus or outdoor performing, programming and youth work, but if you have other skills and experience that you’d like to contribute we’d love to hear from you.
About Mimbre
Mimbre create nuanced, breath taking and highly-skilled acrobatic theatre. We use circus and dance innovatively as a physical language to illuminate human connections and promote a positive image of women.
With an artistic voice that is physical and accessible, Mimbre build relationships with broad, non-traditional audiences and participants, creating unexpected moments in unusual spaces and reclaiming some beauty within the urban environment. Our performances and participation programme reach beyond social, financial and cultural boundaries and find fresh ways to engage, encourage and inspire people, showing that the impossible can be possible on a local, national and international level.
About the role
The Board meets four times a year in east or central London and in addition the trustees are asked to offer some specific advice, networking or help in their areas of expertise outside of these meetings. You will join our enthusiastic Board of experts within the fields of theatre, circus, dance, community work, marketing, governance and finance.
We’d love to hear from:
- performers who work in the outdoor sector or in circus
- programmers and those who have responsibility for curating programmes
- people who work in youth projects and with young people
- people whose voices are under-represented in the Arts
