Look Mum, Let’s Talk About Disability: One Year Later

Look Mum, Let’s Talk About Disability: One Year Later

In 2024, Mimbre and Daryl & Co. created ‘Look Mum, Let’s Talk About Disability’, a series of six short films tackling some of the most common (and often unspoken) questions about disability—questions we heard time and time again while touring ‘Look Mum, No Hands!’.

The project was inspired by our work with young audiences and the honest, open curiosity they shared about what it means to be Disabled and a wheelchair user. We wanted to create a space where these questions could be explored in an engaging and accessible way, using a mix of humour, theatre, and choreography, alongside personal insights from Disabled artists – to make space for real experiences to shape the conversation.

A year later, these films remain a valuable resource for sparking discussions about disability, inclusion, and representation. We hope they continue to inspire curiosity, understanding, and meaningful dialogue.
