We're hosting Mimbre Circus Central, an amazing day of performance and workshops in Hackney in September, come and join us! 7th September - 12pm-5pm Taking advantage of the temporary pedestrianisation on the Narrow Way at the top of Mare Street (E8 1HY), Mimbre will be taking over the whole area for a day. With performances by us and some of our amazing friends as well as workshops for all the family it's going to be fantastic.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind to us last Saturday at the Dalston Children's Festival. Due to heavy wind and rain the performance of "Falling Up" had to be stopped half-way through - the set nearly flew off and it would have been too dangerous for the performers to continue on the slippery ground. Sadly, the acrobatics and street dance workshops that were supposed to take place after "Falling Up" also had to be cancelled. But at least our youth group got to perform everything they had prepared for the festival before the weather got worse!

Have a look at the photos below for some impressions of our windy performances!

This Saturday, May 25th, the Dalston Children's Festival will be launched, a new community-led festival that promotes fun and free things to do for children and young people, all over Dalston, all summer long (25th May – 31st Aug 2013). It is a celebration of the extraordinary creativity of Dalston’s community and the resourcefulness and imagination of local people who are committed to making Dalston a great place for children and young people all year round. Mimbre is very happy to be part of this exciting new festival in Dalston!

On the weekend Mimbre Youth Company (MYC) went to Breaking Conventions at Sadler’s Wells. They got to see the big stage, where they will perform later in the year and Kieran even got to try it out.  He was selected by Jonzi D to come up on stage and show off his moves in front of over 1000 people. He did some amazing free styling, did a big shout out to Mimbre and won a free Breaking Convention T-shirt. Hold tight Kieran.

We had a wonderful time at our first Collective Movement Festival the weekend before Easter and thank everybody, especially all our young people, the volunteers and the numerous audience members who together helped make it such a great success! Also, we'd like to thank everybody for the nice feedback and supporting our aim to raise more money over the coming months to secure the continuation of our acrobatics youth classes.
