“Falling Up” Premiered

“Falling Up” Premiered

“Falling Up” had it’s first public performances at Norwich and Norfolk Festival this weekend. It was lovely seeing the show up and running and out on the street, the sun was even shining for the very first show on the Saturday!  The sun unfortunately didn’t return for the Sunday, but several audience members were so impressed they decided to come back again! We had some lovely comments; ‘Please tell the ladies how wonderful it was’; ‘ The show didn’t just impress me, but also touched my feelings’ and a Big Issue seller came up after the show and said ‘you gave me half an hour of a wonderful break from everything’.

Now starts the second development of the show: the part where it finds it place, shifts and develops together with the audience; take influence from the sites it visits, the surroundings and atmospheres it is performed in and where the show takes a on a life of it’s own – outside my directions and the walls of the rehearsal room. This happens to any show that goes on tour, but in my mind is so much stronger and the true beauty of street theatre – your input as audience is so much more direct and so immediately seen and felt by the performers when performing outside, then it is in the controlled surrounding of a venue.
We are looking forward to seeing you at one or another point this summer – and please do come up and share your thoughts and feelings about the show – either directly to the performers, by emailing us, facebooking us, sending us a postcard or whatever preferred mode of communication you have!
Attached photos are from Eileen Kibby, an audience member from this weekend – another thing we love to receive; any photos you take of the show in action do share with us so we can publish here or on our Facebook wall! For more beautiful pictures from our premiere have also a look at Duncan Kerridge’s photos on  Facebook.
For this summer’s tour schedule go to the tour page on our website. See you in a street or park near you!
