As followers of this blog and our work will know, we are on tour again! This year's summer tour has been kicked off a couple of weeks ago with performances of "Falling Up" and "Until Now" in Mondeville/France (for more information on the festival Plateaux Ephemeres please go here) and last weekend we had the pleasure to present "Falling Up" at the International Street Theatre Festival in Valladolid - to great feedback from audiences and festival programmers alike!
Sabrina, also known as Ravi's Mum, is running 5k in Finsbury Park in the memory of her mother. All the money she raises will go towards Cancer Research UK.

Well done Sabrina!!...
This Saturday, May 25th, the Dalston Children's Festival will be launched, a new community-led festival that promotes fun and free things to do for children and young people, all over Dalston, all summer long (25th May – 31st Aug 2013). It is a celebration of the extraordinary creativity of Dalston’s community and the resourcefulness and imagination of local people who are committed to making Dalston a great place for children and young people all year round. Mimbre is very happy to be part of this exciting new festival in Dalston!
Yesterday evening at Laurie Grove Studios in New Cross the Trinity Laban & Greenwich Dance Partnership announced the winners of their newly created Compass Commissions... and Mimbre was awarded one of the three commissions (from a total of 137 competing entries!) to develop a new production with the working title Bench.
On the weekend Mimbre Youth Company (MYC) went to Breaking Conventions at Sadler’s Wells. They got to see the big stage, where they will perform later in the year and Kieran even got to try it out. He was selected by Jonzi D to come up on stage and show off his moves in front of over 1000 people. He did some amazing free styling, did a big shout out to Mimbre and won a free Breaking Convention T-shirt. Hold tight Kieran.
Falling Up and Until Now are ready for the summer tour now - two proven and successful shows that are looking even better after re-rehearsals, with some new material and choreographies developed this year. Both productions use Mimbre's trademark mix of acrobatics, dance and humour to create strong imagery, visual poetry and emotional content.
